Richmond Cheder offers a warm and inclusive morning experience, fostering a vibrant atmosphere where children explore their Jewish heritage with boundless enthusiasm.
Our mission is to equip each child with a solid foundation in Jewish customs and mastery of Hebrew reading, nurturing a lifelong connection to Judaism and a robust sense of Jewish identity. Our dedicated staff deliver interactive lessons tailored to children from nursery to Bar & Bat Mitzvah class and Religious Studies GCSE class (ages 14 to 16), including personalised one-to-one Hebrew reading sessions.
We cater to diverse interests and abilities, offering classes for nursery, primary school, Bar & Bat Mitzvah preparation, and Religious Studies GCSE. In September 2022, we introduced Ivrit classes for local Israeli families, providing opportunities for students to enhance their fluency in Ivrit and refine their writing skills.
Our unique children’s educational program includes two main streams of learning: Jewish learning and Ivrit (Hebrew) learning for children who are Hebrew speakers.
The Ivrit Stream (Israelili Program), children learn to read, write, and enhance their conversational skills. They explore their Jewish and Israeli identity within the community and integrate with it. The curriculum is tailor-made, incorporating elements from the Israeli education system and special methods of teaching Hebrew.
Above all, the highlight is witnessing the friendships made, and the joy and excitement of the children as they depart Cheder with radiant smiles, eagerly anticipating the next week’s activities, fills us with immense pride.
